What is considered Long Term Storage?

If your considering a term of storing for more than six months, you will want to find a facility that as well as being safe and secure, will give you a good deal as well.  And, if you live in London or some of the larger cities, my guess is that you will find a better deal by long term storing in a rural location like Meon Springs, even though you may have to invest more in the initial removal.

We consider long term storage to be anything more than six months.  For that duration, or longer, you can  take advantage of a couple of deals and discounts that we offer..

Reasons for taking out a Long Term Storage Contract

There are many reasons why people need long term storage.  Below are just a few examples.

There comes a time in life when it makes sense to take a sabbatical or give up the day job and live abroad for a spell.  At these times, renting a long term storage unit is very handy as it allows your property to be rented out, whilst you are away, bringing in essential income to finance your travel.

Regretfully, there comes a time when an elderly relative has to go into care and at these times it can be more economical to hire a long term storage unit for their possessions and rent out or sell their property to finance the care fees.

Small businesses and start ups often find that hiring a long term self storage unit is a good start to storing some stock, before they get big enough to require a warehouse or a larger amount of storage space.   Many businesses also find that hiring a long term storage unit in an area of the country  where they are working but not based, is also very economical as it ensures that the right tools are in the right place at the right time.

For many, it will be more economical to live in a smaller house and hire a long term storage unit in which to keep all the less essential items, such as sports equipment like skis and bikes or items of garden furniture that need protection from the winter weather.

Long Term Storage Deals

Most forward thinking self storage facilities will do a deal for long term storage and at Meon Springs Self Storage is no exception to this.  If you are storing for the long term, and are happy to pay in six month chunks, we offer a 5% discount on our storage rates.   If you are storing for longer and are happy to pay in 12 month chunks, we offer a 10% discount on our storage rates.

We also appreciate that circumstances are always changing and whilst at first you thought you will need long term storage, something happens and you find that you don't need it anymore.  In that instance, we will happily refund any outstanding storage fees back to the day you move out.

^Very secure premises with double container locks, key fob entry system, and cameras. It was very easy to access as/when required any time day/night and you can drive right up next to the containers for easy loading/unloading. Staff were always very helpful, friendly when needed and it was easy to start renting a lock up. Always tidy in/around the lock up area. Invoicing/payment system was easily completed too.
