What is considered Temporary Storage?

Temporary storage is usually considered a term of less than three months.  Ultimately however, all self storage is (or should be) temporary and in reality, most people think that the more temporary it is the better. Sometimes though, there are some genuinely positive personal and economic reasons where short term or temporary storage really does make sense.

At Meon Springs, you can store for as short a period of time as you wish.  In fact, we have done some storage contracts for a day and many people require a bit of space for a week or so particularly if moving dates don't line up.

Reasons for taking out a temporary storage contract

There are many reasons why people require temporary or short term storage.

A common one is that house buying and selling dates just don't line up.  If you've been in this situation, you'll surely agree that this can be highly frustrating and very often the options to resolve the issue are quite limited and stressful.   A temporary storage solution can be a useful way to ensure that the house deal does goes ahead.

Another reason for short term storage is when you are decorating or you have builders in to do significant house alterations.   This can sometimes be for just a few days or other times it might be for a significant longer term.  In which case you might be able to take advantage of long term storage rates.

Small businesses sometimes need the flexibility of short term or temporary storage arrangements.  Particularly if they are receiving a large delivery that needs to be kept for a few days before distributing.   A self storage solution can be particularly useful in this situation and at Meon Springs, where you have a no obligation reservation system, storage units can be reserved without commitment.​

Short term storage arrangements

For most storage customers, flexibility, straight forwardness and fairness seem to be key requirements particularly in regards to temporary or short term storage.  This is why at Meon Springs, we accept storage for as short as a day and are always very flexible when in comes to the length of term required.   

In a short term storage situation (less than a month), we will normally take a months self storage fee and on moving out, we will refund you for unused time right back to the day we receive the keys back.
